We showcase another paid add-on for Blender from Kushiro, for editing a Curve Object such as hair.
Sometimes, small tools can make a big difference in an artist’s workflow.
Curve Hair, a new Blender add-on by
Kushiro (also known for tools like
Ngon-Loopcut and
Resample Edges), is one of those focused utilities made specifically for artists who create hair using Blender’s Curve Objects.
It lets you move the curve profile to the strand’s endpoint, making it easier to edit hair orientation and shape without guessing or constantly adjusting transforms.
Since this is a small tool the usage is also pretty simple and quick, here’s a breakdown of it:
- In Object Mode, select the hair strand curve (Curve Object).
- Right-click anywhere in the 3D Viewport.
- At the bottom of the context menu, find Curve Hair.
- Open the sub-menu and select Curve Hair to begin editing.
- Hair Tool for Blender A well-known Blender add-on focused on hair-card and curve workflows. It supports procedural strand generation, curve modelling tools (resample, knife, linear deformer), hair card conversion, UV and texture baking, and works with curves guiding hair cards.
Main Differences: While Curve Hair focuses on editing a profile object on curves (and simplifying curve hair strand shape edits), Hair Tool offers a larger feature set including full hair-card generation, procedural workflows, UV/texture baking, etc.
- Hair Wrangler for Blender: A Blender add-on by Danny Mac 3D that lets you use curves to style hair, set up hair systems with one click, switch between geometry/strand hair, and convert existing hair setups into curve-based systems.
Main Differences: Compared with Curve Hair, which focuses on snapping the profile object to the end of curve strands (for hair-curve modelling), Hair Wrangler is a full stylistic hair creation framework (curve styling, system setup, strand switching).
