Blender developer Kushiro has released Resample Edges, a free add-on that makes it easy to redistribute vertices evenly along selected edges.
The tool works on both open and closed edge loops and comes with a few simple but useful options:

  • Even Spacing: Place new vertices evenly along edges.
  • Flexible Control: Replace the original vertices or keep them.
  • Smoothing: Automatically smooth vertices along the path.
  • Padding: Prevent new vertices from sitting too close to the edge ends.
🎥 Here are some examples of the add-on in action:
How to use it:

Using Resample Edges is simple: switch to Edit mode, select the edges you want to resample, then right-click in the 3D Viewport and choose Resample Edges. After that, you can tweak the tool’s settings to control vertex distance, smoothing, or whether to keep the original points.

By simplifying repetitive cleanup tasks, Resample Edges helps you stay focused on the creative side of modeling.
