Unity 6
First Edition 2025
Who this is for.
VFX artists, motion designers, and game developers who want to master real-time effects inside Unity.
Technical artists seeking to expand their understanding of particles, shaders, and optimization.
Students and professionals aiming to bring cinematic, reactive, and stylized visuals into their games.
Mastering Real-Time VFX in Unity is a comprehensive guide to creating professional visual effects with Unity 6. Blending art and technology, it takes you through every stage of the VFX pipeline, from concept and particle systems to shaders, animation, and optimization, using practical examples designed for real-world production.

You’ll start by learning the artistic foundations of VFX, including shape, color, timing, and contrast, and how these principles translate into dynamic, interactive effects. Step by step, you’ll explore Unity 6’s Particle System, Shader Graph, and material workflows to build stylized and realistic visuals that react to gameplay in real time.

As you progress, you’ll tackle advanced topics such as pre-rendering vs real-time rendering, UI effects and particles, animation and keyframes, and post-processing, culminating in professional workflows for optimization, version control, and documentation. By the end, you’ll master both the creative and technical aspects of real-time VFX in Unity 6, gaining the skills to bring your games to life with stunning, performant visuals.
