What began as a Blender challenge grew into 40 free models and a playable Godot scene showing how they work together.
Creating even a small town from scratch takes more than a few houses. Bridges, fences, market stalls, signs, and smaller props all need to follow the same art direction.

AlefranDev recently released 40 models from Medieval Stylized Little Town as a free download. The low-poly models share a colorful, hand-painted style for medieval and fantasy scenes.
The models come as GLB and FBX files with base color and normal maps. They can be used and modified in commercial or educational projects.
The project began more than two years ago, when AlefranDev shared his first 33 free assets on itch.io.

The collection then sat unfinished for a while. After learning more about texture creation, environment design, and programming in Godot, he returned to expand it and give it a proper presentation.

He expected the new version to take about two weeks. It took almost two months. Some models were more complex than planned, a lot of the textures were painted by hand, and node-based texturing in Material Maker was still new to him.

As the collection grew, keeping the files organized and testing each model became a larger part of the work. He often returned to Blender to fix assets before placing them in the final scene.

AlefranDev also made a small walking demo in Godot to show how the pieces fit together. Much of the work went into its terrain, lighting, sky, and foliage.

You can download the demo from the pack's itch.io page.
AlefranDev released part of the collection for free as a way to give back to the community that helped him learn. If people find it useful, he plans to keep expanding it.
